Dive into the transformative world of Butoh with Meshi Chavez, a seasoned practitioner, queer artist, and MFA graduate from the University of the Arts. Join me in Portland, Oregon, for 'Butoh Unveiled: Embodied Presence and Queer Futurity in Motion' - an immersive experience that transcends conventional dance forms.

In this workshop, Chavez guides participants on a profound exploration of movement, unlocking new expressions through divergence, presence, and spaciousness. Embodying the practice, shedding colonial legacies, and embracing Queer Futurity are our core focuses, alongside exploring the radical potential of the present moment.

Driven by the question, 'What can this body do?' we explore dance's possibilities. Through collective movement, Chavez fosters unity, encouraging creative expression. 'Butoh Unveiled' is a journey towards discovering the power of dance, courage, and kindness, fostering attention, curiosity, and deeper engagement with our surroundings.
